Obviously my car will be on a jig soon so with both subframes removed what should I do?
Solid mounts did I hear someone mention before? What bushes can only be replaced when the subframes are dropped?
What is the benefit of a TF subframe and can it be adapted for hydragas?
We've decided that if we're going to the expense of rebuilding the car it has to be better than before and hopefully the opportunity will not arise for some time again.

Good news that the shell is salvageable Neil ;D
Yes, go for TF (or Trophy 160) alloy subframe mounts.
The TF front subframe is triangulated - the subframe is notoriously flexible, so in terms of improving steering feel, a TF subframe is certainly an option. But as you say, it would need to be converted to Hydragas useage. Not sure how easy/ expensive that would be - but possible I'd have thought, given someone with skill at fabricating/welding.
Another option would be to use a B&G seam-welded front subframe. Not sure how much these are (I seem to remember that they are a little on the costly side). But there would be no problems with worrying about compatibility with Hydragas.
The "third way" I've been thinking about is to see what exactly MGR have done to the TF's subframe. I *think* it's just a couple of stiffening bars bolted to opposing corners of the frame. This being the case, it should be pretty straight forward to bold these bars (or something suitably fabricated) in a similar way to emulate what they've done...
