Hi Guys,
Just wondered if any of you are still here, last post recorded on 9 Jun 07???
I still have the MGF, the old girl is 10 next month and needs some sprucing up, a few rust patches appearing on the rear quarters where the bumper attaches and on the base of the passenger door and on the edges of the air intakes from stone chips and around the boot brakelight housing but the engine is still going 104K.
Going in for MOT tomorrow, so fingers crossed.
Our first baby is due next month but I get to keep the MG because the wife wants her car changing as it is 12 next month, solid Honda Civic, never had a problem with it in 12 years apart from, brakes, tyres and exhausts, oh and a new dizzy cap. It has only had 2 sets of plugs too, absolutely bullet proof car, I will be sad to see it go, never the less it will be replaced by another Honda Civic.
The MG will become a hobby to keep it running, never kept a car for myself so long in my whole life, a sign of the enjoyment it brings and it is used every day, in all weathers not just a summer runaround. I think I might treat it to a respray in the summer if I can sort out the rust problems.

The old girl passed the MOT after fitting 2 new track rod ends, which were only replaced last year, seems to be an area of quick wear and the old ones had to be heated to get them off.
I wonder what really comes out of those chemical works I pass each day, seems to be very corrosive.
MOT advised coolant pipes leaking, which I wasn't aware of so I will need to get that one sorted before HGF occurs again.
I need to fit a new cam belt so I might as well do the pipes and water pump at the same time. Fortunately I have a mate who has a new set of pipes going spare. Seems the pipes last 5 years cos the last set went after 5 years too.
I am now wondering how long the clutch has left and the gear cables are still original too.
