Looks good Dieter - nice 'clean' modern design (unlike the MG one which i had in my first Montego in 1989!!! I've still to find out how much the Bentley one is (probably loads, but it's worth asking the question). The Bentley one doesn't have the left/right selector though, so you need two of them! (doubly expensive )

Postman brought the part today. I didn't buy the one from above picture, but this one from an Opel Calibra. It measures 45mm x 25mm. 8 pos. connector, joystick, 2 location switch. 8 wires run to a connector. black-purple (schwarz-lila) black-white (schwarz-weiss) grey (grau) yellow (gelb) black (schwarz) blue (blau) green (gruen) brown (braun) Didn't know about special feature with the LED mounted and googl'ed a little. ROFLMAO ... found the Calibra wiring diagrams as ZIP on the German Opel Fan net. (copied to the site now) www.mgfcar.de/mirror_motor/Calibra-Sch15.jpgNow I know what the LED does... It is an indicator for the mirror heating circuit .... and ... the switch assy joystick has also a push button function to control a relay for the mirror heaters. However, will see whether the 'thingy' fits into the MGF instrument cowl and report how I get on.

Looks promising! Are you planning to use that heated mirror switch function then Dieter?

LOL !! Any other suggestion to use a push button and a yellow LED (mirror related) ?? However, looks like this mod will delay. May be next winter The wiring doesn't look easy. Found the joystick contacts working and need to make a temporary circuit assembly to pre-test all together under power. At first the mirrors need silver spray and I should have a look where I put the spare cowl from the wreck to cut the switch hole (You know, 14 moving boxes left)

My brother recently sold his MGF and has bought a Jaguar X-type (it's the 2.5 litre sport version). Comes complete with fully-electric mirrors as you'd expect. Why am I rambling on about this? Because the Jag has a neat switch to fold in the mirrors for getting through tight gaps... ... now you wanted an alternative use for that button and yellow LED - now you've got one!
