... a small leak in the engine outlet coolant pipe!!!!!  Oh smeg! That was close! I had no idea... I had images of a hose letting go big time on the motorway - or worse, on the track!!! Luckily, leak was very close to underbody coolant pipe, so the end was trimmed, and the jubilee clip tighted sealing the pipe before the split  Phew! I think that I'll be investing in a complete new set of hoses come the next service!!!! |

New pipes would be a definate consideration for me too. One of the guys on the BBS has pointed a link to Mikes site, Mmmmm interesting. Is it likely to include this rather expsensive hose in the kit?

ARRRRGHHHHHH!!! I don't believe it. Not only has the car failed because of the feeble candles that I've currently got as head lamps, but I discover that the OTHER coolant hose has sprung a leak!!!!!!!!!!! Oh  ger At least it's been found now rather at some more inconvenient time!  |

Bumper has come off, I've reassembled new fog lamps into the brackets that Chris kindly sent me, I've removed and reassembled the head lights with the re-silvered bowls, put everything together to find that today, satan's own heard of demonic cows are dropping cow pats of hell on me...
The fog lamps don't align with the holes in the bumper, and now the battery is flat so I can't move the car and re-align the headlamp beams for tomorrow's MoT re-test...
Oh joy.

We're civilised oop north Tim  LOL Great news: head lamps storm a pass ;D Bad news: where MG was standing for a while there was a puddle of coolant, and the level in the expansion tank had dropped 15mm from this morning Pipes definitely need replacing - but I am not sure whether I can get it up to Techspeed for a transplant with Dave's "nearly new" hoses  Maybe on the back of a flat loader... Might ask Victoria for a quote on replacement hoses and do them myself... |

Got the ally rad from Victoria today looks good but there are no studs for the fan so it looks like a subtle plan is needed OK it's time to bring on Vivian |

How does Bill install the fan on cars he's fitted the TF rad to? Andy, currently planning on hose replacement this weekend if you're still interested PS Metro running strong - with only a hint of petrol odour when the car is parked for a time... |

Rob - i have a Trophy 160 to pump up on Saturday morning (Steve Marsh from Luton). Probably go out to lunch with him and his missus, but the rest of the weekend is free (until i get pinned down by Mark and Kieren to fit thier Trophy TBs!  ) So, yes, i'm still interested - should be 'fun' |

Any joy mate? Pumped up Steve's suspension on Saturday, but got a panic phone call on Sunday morning 'help it's dropped 10mm!' Personally i reckon it's settlement, but he popped back on Sunday for a top up. No word from him today so i am assuming it's OK. Good Friday i'm replacing a flexi pipe Easter weekend i'm helping my Dad with a fence, but am looking for an excuse to get out of it! |
