Bob,
Are you the seller, or are you thinking of buying?
If you are the buyer, my first reaction is 'why not paint your own one?'
If you are the seller then you need to be aware that there is a batch of Fs (around the time of the Trophy 160) which have a foam former behind the blank making it pretty tricky to reinstall (glovebox out job) and this will affect your instructions (i am assuming you are providing a 1 page 'how to swap them over' type sheet).
Also, is this an exchange part? i.e. do you want the old one back? (reduce costs)
Also, i note that the site calls the 'blanks' (which is correct), but if it were me i'd have put something on there advising people not to tamper with it if they have a passenger air bag (there's always some muppet out there - plan for the lowest denominator you know?)
Other than that, as an idea i think it's excellent - i have a walnut blank myself and i really think the car benefits by having it made a feature of. ;D

Yes I am the seller.
People could paint their own but there are a lot of folks out there who are not as motivated as us lot on here and have neither the time nor inclination to do it themselves. I've got a pretty good workshop at home with an air compressor and spray gun etc. Not many people have access to all that gubbins!
Didnt realise that about the differing styles of airbag blank. Can you tell which style you have without removing it?
I will offer a £5 reduction if they are willing to exchange their part but I'll offer this on completion of the sale.
You're right about the airbag bit as well. I'll modify it to state that cars fitted with airbags are not suitable for the mod! Dont want to accidentally kill anyone (I've already accidentally killed someone before...dont want to repeat it)
I'm hoping to offer colour coded centre consoles in the near future to compliment these parts.
Thanks for the suggestions and the encouragement!

(I've already accidentally killed someone before...dont want to repeat it) (i don't want to know) ----------------------------- The blanks themselves are identical - the difference is in what is behind them - i only found this out myself a short while ago - i did a demonstration in one of my mate's Trophy 160s and was surprised to find a large black piece of foam/polystyrene behind it. This foam sits on top of the glovebox and the only reason i can think it might be there is as additional sound deadening - maybe a rattle preventor? The Trophy after all has a harder ride than a normal F. Anyway, the foam prevents the blank from simply being clipped back into place, the refit the blank you need to drop the glovebox and foam, insert the blank, insert the foam and then put the glovebox back - bit long winded, but all very simple. I think it's a great idea though Bob, you are right about the 'hassle' element of doing it yourself - personally i hate doing paintwork - it's one of the areas that i freely admit i have very little aptitude in (the other automotive one is electrics - i hate 'em! ).

What you need to do is put the clips at the top of the blank about half way on. Then kind of slide the top into place with the clips half on the push the bottom into place. Then give the blank a forcefull shove and the the clips should fully slide into place along with the blank. Took me a bit of swearing to work it out!
