You know it makes sense: the lurvely looking Sat Nav from the Rover 75 (and shared with various models of 'The car company that shall not be named' ) Okay, not a great fit into an MGF... but... wouldn't it nice? Install instructions can be found here: www.x5world.net/ - download the pdfs and dream

btw... looking at that site... I ask myself.. Why in heaven did I (we) hundreds (thousand?) hours of investigating, surfin, chats, pictures, BBS discussions, websites, articles about the mad MGF ? It's so easy instead. Host all pdf available, put links to a front site and that's it. Err, I get my coat.. (Had more fun in any way over the last (only) 6 years) ;D

Before I joined my present company, I worked for Brookes & Gatehouse, very much into the leasure industry of sailing & power boats.
One of the projects was the initial development of a HUD (head up display) for power boats. The module would have nicely fitted in to the front edge of the instrument cowl. I have always dreamed of being a fighter pilot - I can see it now! Pilot to Nav: "Roger........Targeting the next junction - bearing 2.5 degrees.......16 degrees, 45, 75, 89,....... oh nuts.......missed it ! Going round again"

You can already buy an after-market gizmo that provides a 'degree' of head up display. I can't remember the name of the company that made it now, but it projected up useful information like speed, revs, and erm, turbo pressure and lap timer onto an adhesive patch stuck to the windscreen. Unfortunately, you can't mount the projector to project the holographic image to the centre of the line of site for safety and legal reasons. However, isn't 'The car company that shall not be named' bringing out an HUD for some of its new models? How have they gotten around the legal issues? Hmm - a sat nav system with a HUD... cool...
