Collected my f from techspeed last night!!
Forgot how much i liked the noise!!
They've done an excelent job and the car is like new!
A few things i've appreciated in the TF hire car
1) improved headlights: as mine have both now been replaced in 2 accidents it's not too much difference now!
2) Mk2 seats: Seem to be lower than the mk1 ones in my F consequently leg room feels a bit better, lateral support is also improved, but that could be the alcantara
3) Ajustable steering wheel: Stops it rubbing on your legs, retrofitable?
4) electric wing mirrors: nice
5) interior lights come on when you turn off the ignition: I absolutely love this feature and must find out how to do it

Glad that you've been happily reunited I agree with you on the strengths of the TF v F... 1. Headlamps are always an option, if you are prepared to change the front bumper. I've looked into installing the TF projector units into the MGF lamp body - but it appears to be a no-go... 2. Mk2 seats are better - hence I have the alcantara seats in my car! LOL ;D 3. Adjustable steering wheel ought to be retro-fitable. Might be worth talking to Victoria regarding obtaining the steering column and brackets 4. Electric door mirrors are R200 parts, and are widely available Good idea too - especially if more than one person gets to drive your MG. 5. The interior lamps coming on on ignition off? I am suspecting that the multifunction unit has been upgraded - did your hire TF come with the new style alarm/locking key fob (octagonal shaped)? The fuse box is also quite different too...

The arming device is different, its an egg shape?
Also i noticed the flash pattern for the super lock is different flash - pause - flash flash flash mine is 4 in a row, also it locks itself again if you don't open the door after dis-arming it, and it flashes the lights again when you close the boot.
Lots of little changes i guess.

Hmmm - not so much lots of little changes, but rather one big one: the TF clearly has a new MFU and wiring circuit! Retro-fittable? I doubt it!

Basically, a TF after dark looks like it is continuously flashing you. 2) Yep, MY2K and onwards seats have thinner foams in the base, effectively lowering the driving position. 3) I tried to get this from Victoria during the rebuild, apparently it isn't a retro fit option (not sure why). 4) I'm thinking about this myself. 5) Ohh! This one is a new one on me - let me know how you get on as this is a great idea. Great news that you have the F back mate

Nice you have a few fun back 3) (not sure why). I wonder as well. The only difference visible from EPC pix seam the adjustment mechanical items. To be veryfied at any time with both *bare* parts comparison. 4) I have sourced a pair of R200 un-painted @ebay recently and asked SCOTTY to get the *expensive* joystick 4me from Victoria . Scotty will be back to DE soon. I wonder at last how to get the joy stick to the MK1 LHD instrument cowl.

3) Height adjustable steering collumn. According to Victoria, it was because Scarlet doesn't have EPAS, apparently height adjustable non-EPAS steering collumns do not exist and EPAS isn't retrofitable. Maybe it is possible then for an F with EPAS already? 4) Bentley do some drop dead gorgeous chrome mirror joysticks - if they aren't too extortionate (they will be i'm sure) i might pick up a couple...

Andy, I think that we really need to have a look at the adjustable steering column. It maybe that the componentry IS compatible with non-EPAS steering columns - but we won't know until we've had a closer look.

Dieter, I've seen conversions on early Mk1s like ours - and on these, the joy-stick has been mounted on the driver's door card - on the horizontal surface of the door pull.
Seems like a good position for it - even if it makes removing the door trim a little more inconvenient.
