I've spoken to Dave Walker this afternoon, and have confirmed the date. I've also confirmed a few other details too: - I've arranged for each session to include a Lambda check of fuel mixture - I know that a number of us are interested in this parameter!
- As a result, the day is now limited to 20 cars, at 30 quid a run. But that does include all the tea and biscuits (etc) that you can eat (okay, I made that last bit up)
- Spectators are welcome - but remember that parking is restricted. Therefore Dave has requested that spectators park just around the corner (that's no problem)
I think that is about it - but if you have any special requirements, then let either me know, or contact Dave directly. So the attendence list now stands at: - Paul (aka Alicatt) MGZT 260SE
- Kev (aka ZSV6) MGZS 180
- Eddie (aka 180Boy) MGZS 180
- Dave Breen MGZS 180
- Paul (aka Wirly) MGZS 180
- Pete B MGZS 180
- Ralph MGZS 180
- Pete Carr Rover Metro 1.4 GTi
- Caroline Woodley Caterham7 Roadsport 1.8
- Rob Bell MGF 1.8i
- Dave Livingstone MGF VVC
- Tim Woolcott MGF 1.8i
- Steve Ratledge MGF 1.8i
- Andrew (SF) Phillips MGF 1.8i
- Norman MGTF 160
- Steve White MGTF 160
Are we all confirmed and ready to go?

When I was last on a rolling road my F showed up as having some over fueling issue. Nothing major but worth sorting out. SInce then I have I have aquired a Powerboost valve. My current plan is to drive to the Emerald session and fit the valve whilst I am there and then adjust it to suit during the RR session. Cunning plan huh. ;D Unusally I think I will be turning the fuel pressure setting down not up.
My question would be how difficult/how long will it take to fit? I know a few people have then fitted , any tips?

Well, I know how to replace the standard FPR Steve, so removing the old one shouldn't be a problem. If you've got the FSE, then this is usually mounted away from the fuel rail. This means that you need to have it mounted on a bracket somewhere. Dave's got his fitted in the centre of the boot bulkhead - but so long as the hoses reach and don't fowl anything "nasty" then you can mount it nearly anywhere. Would be best to sort this aspect of the installation in advance: that way we could simply remove the old FPR and connect up the FSE whilst the car is still on the rollers and not take up too much time.

Top tip Rob. Mounting the FSE Power Boost Valve was a bit of a fiddly job, but its all done now. In addition I have bought some new lenght of fuel pipe. I had a go at taking the old PFE out - it looks like there is a definate nack to doing it. So I stoped before I did any damage. Anyway all ready to rock & roll on the day. Rob, It might be intresting to do a before and after run? So that we can evaluate the SFE against a known base line? Any idea what this might do to the fee? PS: Is there any where local to Emerald for a breakfast meetup? Steve

Steve - there is a bit of a nack - one of those things that's "easy if you know how"! No worries - we'll sort this out on the day A before and after run is definitely a good idea. Perhaps if we put you towards the end of the list (if that's okay?) we'll have a bit more time. When we've done additional runs in the past, Dave hasn't charged extra: it's 30 quid per car, period. At least, that was the policy for when they were down in Brixton... We'll have to ask Dave on the day, but I can't see a problem. If you get Dave to adjust the FSE for you (might be a good idea), there may be an extra charge? Shouldn't be much though, I'd have thought. Hmm - meeting before hand... good point! Anyone know of anywhere suitable? Last time we met at a Happy Eater type place some distance away. Let's see what the gang want to do.

How high tech are Emerald? If I bring along a USB memory stick do you think they will be able to save the RR output to it. This could be either graphical or raw data.
It might give us some intresting options to host and cross compare the various modification packages that people have in place.
I can bring either a 128mb stick or 40Gb external USB drive.

Hmm - now there is a thought Steve. Bottom line is I don't know - but the system is, I am pretty sure, PC based. And so long as the PC is reasonably recent, it'll have a USB port, and will support external HDs or memory sticks... So yes, bring it along - it would be good to recover the data for later analysis (and also data from King Kone 2, if Dave's still got that on his HD)

It may not all be compatible though. From what I recall Dave Walker is not too handy with the PC himself and relies on his partner, Karl.

I spoke to Dave Walker a little earlier today - he'd like to get started a little later - 10am rather than 9am.
I propose we still meet as planed at 0730 - but then take advantage of popping into the MGOC HQ when it opens at 0900 and then head up to Emerald thereafter.
How does that suit you folks?

Works for me. It might be nearer 8:00 than 7:30 but I give it a go. Any idea what time we will finish? I have got to drive back to Hampton swap cars for the Volvo and then set sail for Chester to pick up the wife and kids! 140 Miles to Emerald, 140 back to Hampton and then 225 to Chester - I must be mad

No problem Steve As for finish time, I can't see things running much later than 3 or 4pm?
