Thinking of installing the TF front antiroll bar fairly shortly to my car - as it is a direct swap. My existing ARB is fine, but the rubber bushes are dead - and besides, I'd like to stiffen up the roll resistance a little more. I've also got rear TF ARB as well - but sadly, this is not a direct swap. Anyone know anyone who is able to manufacture ARBs in the UK? The TF ones are 1mm thicker than the MGF items - so probably not too much of a difference in roll stiffness to be found there (but I'll probably be able to confirm this fairly soon! )

Sounds cool Rob, been thinking along similar line myself (MS droplinks started it off, while the droplinks are removed might as well uprate the ARB too! )

On the subject of ARB what about the effectivness of replacing the old bushes for the Powerflex variety. I am not thinking of the whole shooting match just the ARB mounting bushes and the drop link bushes?
A set of mounting bushes for the front and rear is about £40 and the drop links bushes are £28 front + £36 rear, all plus the dreaded VAT.
Will there be any noticable improvement or will it simply be lost in the give from the Wishbone bushes at the front or the rear chassis bushes?
For back ground I have already fitted the Polyurethane shocker bush kit, (a complete set of top and bottom bushes) and the REAR OUTER TCA/TIE BAR BUSHs.

Replacing the old rubber with new PU bushes *ought* to make a difference Steve - there will be less movement before the suspension compression applies torque to the ARB... so yes, worth doing. As to whether it is worth the cost of the PU bushes - no idea. I also am a little unsure why Mike Satur went to the trouble of producing alloy drop links - other than the advantage of using PU bushes (again)? Interesting to note that the MY2005 TF uses a thicker front ARB isn't it... now 21mm thick!

I would have though that a thicker front ARBwould increase understear?

I would have though that a thicker front ARBwould increase understear? It would certainly work the front contact patches harder, build the slip angles faster - so yes, earlier onset of understeer would be predicted. But I guess, turn in would be sharper too. Interestingly, I chatted to Mick @ Techspeed about this, and he reckoned that it wouldn't be bad for understeer, and in fact inferred quite the opposite... Perhaps he was referring to intial responses rather than ultimate grip?

Any news on this Rob? I ask because i have a set of MS aluminium front ARB drop links and PU bushes and a set of titanium rear ARB drop links and PU bushes waiting to be fitted in my garage...
Gotta say, regardless of whether they are pointless or not, they are really nice ...drool...

I am embarrised to say that the ARBs are still sitting in my garage waiting to be fitted - along with those cams and a 101 other projects... argh! There's too little time in the day!!!
