Looks as though Kingsley could have done with retro burners to avoid steriod-psychotic 'The car company that shall not be named' drivers... My brakes are "Adequate" MG Sport and Racing grooved discs - using the pitifully small standard 240mm diameter and thicknesses (ie vented front, solid rear), using Mintex 1177s front, and 1166s rear (because there aren't any 1177s currently left in the country!!! ARGH! ) Other mods include braided hoses, and a servo steady bar. Also plan another crafty servo support modification based on something that David in Oz has developed on his race MGF...

Write a phrase in 10 words or less that describes {Cornflakes} and win a new Ford Tippex. Vyv - "Cornflakes Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes!" Rik - "That's only 9 words!" Vyv - "Oh yes, hmmm - Cornflakes!" Don't you just love the Young Ones? How did Vicar of Dibley beat it into the top 10? ;D

Oh Oh the call of the darkside Servo support bracket! easy to fit? Yup, pretty straightforward: www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/brake_servo.htmFunnily enough, chatting to Greg @ Techspeed regarding the possibility of knocking up a triangulation bracket to really fix the master cylinder into place. The B&G one is well worth fitting though - as the pix demonstrate! ;D

Okay I am boring I have completely std brakes with the exception of braided brake pipes. However for some reason they are pretty good which have been backed up by Dave, SF and Rob during the MG world gear shift test. Mind you they got a good hammering at Brands and this was one place where Dave really had the edge on me. Maybe time to think about an upgrade

EBC groved front and back with greenstuff.
Sometimes they work well and other times not very well at all.

Those EBC GS pads just leave me a little cold. They're absolutely fine IMO if you use your car for normal road use - but take them on a track, and they brake up and literally start falling to pieces.
The Mintex pads are much better - even the 1144s have superb bite. Not sure I'll try 1166s again - they're a little too hard and don't work all that well from cold, but 1177s are awsome ;D

Green Stuff all round with Castrol RS 5.1 Brake Fluid
I may try Pagids next as they seem to go down a storm with the Elise crowd.

Let me know how you get on with that Bob. I had some problems last year trying to find appropriate pads for the F, but the situation may have improved since I last looked Not sure which was the best compound though Bob - can you remember which ones the Elise boys were recommending?
